The Dream is Everything

In our earlier and more carefree childhood, we were all creative dreamers filled with a boundless sense of energy and wonder. But when we reached adulthood, we began fearing what others were thinking of us. We became self-conscious & self-obsessed. We ‘dress’ ourselves as how people will perceive us, not as how we see ourselves. All of a sudden our mission in life became not to be embarrassed. We were afraid to look bad, so we make it a point not to take any risks and not be ourselves. We became actors in our own ‘movie’ and strangers, friends and family are our directors . We play a role of someone else’s perspective and not our own. We somehow end up designing our lives based on what other people might be thinking about us. So why then should the way we all feel depend on the thoughts in someone else’s head? How do we motivate ourselves to have that “I don’t care what people think of me” attitude and to leave the painful self-consciousness behind us?

I read from a book that says,

“It might be a profitable overcorrection to adopt these commands:-
* Leave your comfort zone
* Look Bad
* Take a Risk
* Lose Face
* Be Yourself
* Share yourself with someone
* Open Up
* Be Vulnerable
* Be human
* Get Honest
* Experience the fear and do it anyway”

Maybe it’s the fear of what ifs - What if this doesn’t work? What if I fail and I can’t get back up again? What if my family leave me after I start this journey? What if I lose everything for the sake of my dream? What if this, what if that? Just what if?

“Fear and pain,” says psychologist Nathaniel Branden, “should be treated as a signal not to close our eyes but to open them wider.” To never give up on your dreams no matter how preposterous/absurd it might appear to other folks, to always focus on your dream and have that drive to succeed and always push yourself to the ultimate.

We have to take control of what we know. The more we know of what motivates us, the easier it is to motivate ourselves. They say knowledge is power. Respect yours and build on it!

Live that dream and never give up no matter how long it will take you, just NEVER GIVE UP and admit defeat!

Hi Mas,
I believe that we owe it to ourselves to live our lives to the fullest potential which is exciting and potential but the uniqueness of each one's true destiny...that lies in our own hearts and no one else's. Very nice to read. *love*
