Why you bring that for?

Right! 2 pairs of Jeans – for casual out and about, a pair of smart trousers – for ?, must also bring that flowery knee length skirt that just looks so good on me (well, that’s my opinion), few t-shirts, blouses, shoes – maybe 3 pairs? Will that be enough? What about sandals? Any heels to bring? Toothbrush, toothpaste, other toiletries…Towels? Should I bring towels too? I’m sure his mum will provide it for me! Dresses? Should I take any dresses with me? What else? What else? What else? Gosh! Can’t seem to zip this luggage up properly! Oh! Hang on! Better I ask Ely to stand on top of the bag, that will help! “ELY! Harith! Wanna do something fun?!!!”

That was me and is still me when packing my clothes for a trip. I just don’t know what to take with me for a holiday! If given the chance, I would definitely bring my whole wardrobe so that tak pening kepala but of course to pay the excess baggage will be horrendous! I will pack a week before my trip, then few days after that I will look in the luggage unpack all the content and repack… Take this and that out and put new things in! Then a day before the trip, will do the same routine and in the end I just have to force myself to close it and lock it and stay away from it until I reached my destination! And then when I reached the destination and start unpacking, did I realised what I’ve taken with me are things that are totally unnecessary! Sigh! I don’t know! Even a trip to the barn I will overpack! Will tend to bring too many shirts for James - a pair of jeans that he won’t be wearing coz he’s more comfortably with his Khaki pants, shirts which will only be hung but never worn, 5 underpants/boxers (just in case what, I donno!), his tidoq pants where once I forgot to put it in the bag and he was proper annoyed at me! So he got to sleep with his khaki pants! Too cold to not be wearing anything (not that he does… so anywae – Malu already here!), so that tidoq pants will always be the number one priority - The first to go in the bag! Me on the other hand, bring a pair or 2 of my favourite ¾ pants, pair of jeans, pair of pants, skirt (short, long – both!), T-Shirts (long sleeve, short sleeve – both!), sweatshirts in case it gets cold and sweaters too, sandals (in case the sun starts shining), my Nike shoes, my pair of boots (in case it rains), another pair of black shoe in case we go somewhere posh to makan,, and for James, jsut pair of his old time favourite Nike sneakers and a pair of his suede Timberland shoes, that’s it! Oh! Not to forget My make-up kit, hair dryer, hair straightener, hairbrush, face wash, face cream, shaving cream (his and hers), perfumes etc, etc, etc…. And this all for a weekend out in the Barn! 3 days is like I’m packing for 1 week!

Is this what you call just plain ridiculously extreme to the max?

massy! I used to be like you, but when I got married, my husband, who travels a LOT-LOT-LOT, couldn't take it. SO he taught me how to travel light. Now, i could pack a weekend trip for myself and two boys in one bag..and learn to live with it!!
All the same, wherever it is that you're going , HAVE FUN even with the luggage and all. Just don't forget to bring his seluar tidor!!

Sorry to disappoint you. I never pack for trips. Just an overnight bag and then head for the shops. Good excuse for shopping.

heheee.. i think u speak for most women. same prob here. sometimes can ekceli just stick to black n cream tudung je, but still wanna match diff baju wif diff tudung. eg klu 4 baju 4 la tudungnya. mengada to the max la nieh.

sesgt la admire yg bijak travel light tuh. but we're gettin more efficient at it day by day, year by year, kan? we're 'learning' kan ppl?? *wink*

heheee.. enjoy yrself anyway!

lol oh Massy! You never fail to tickle my ribs! (tengah ajar budak idioms, so need to practise too, heh)

I agree with Anedra. After a while you will get a hang of travelling light.

Good luck!
